For a number of years I helped develop and V5 engine concept motorcycle. Most of the geometry on the bike was designed by myself except for the front upper shocks and handle bars.
A large proportion of the bike is made of carbon fibre due to weight was quite a big issue with an engine of this formation. The bodywork was particularly challenging within Solidworks, although after much hard work I produced a design that aesthetically pleasing to my customer.
The engine itself comprised of many hundreds of components, the process of design the cylinder heads, block and internals was help by my previous experience within the automotive industry from a previous business.
The design required a mixture of standard solid, surface and hybrid modelling to achieve different geometry within the project. As the concept neared its end I produced an selection of renders using Solidworks Visualize.
